All about the Zune
The Zune 8 GB is the second generation model of the Zune media player that was announced on October 2nd, in the year 2007. It was then released on November 13, 2007. These are flash memory based devices that were created to compete with the iPod Nano and the Sansa Fuze. These are smaller and cheaper that the three hard drive Zune devices namely the Zune 30, Zune 80 and the Zune 120. They offer music, video, pod cast support and also come with Wi-Fi and Fm Radio.
The Zune pad which has replaced the D-pad of the original Zune allows for touch screen with sensitive controls in addition to the five way clicking. Wi-Fi helps in wireless synchronization which aids in photo sharing, pod casts and music with other Zunes. This however allows only for playing of the shared music thrice at the receiving end. The FM Radio of the Zune 8 GB includes the RBDS support for the display of songs and station metadata. It however does not support HD-Radio. You can see that the Zune models also feature scratch resistant glass screens that appear similar to the v2 Zune screens.
The Zune 8 GB has a capacity that can hold up to 2000 songs, 25000 pictures, and 25 hours of video.
The features of Zune 8GB are as follows: It has a capacity of 8GB (flash based). It has 399 MHz ARM Core Processor Free scale i.MX31L. It has 64 MB Ram with 16 MB available for games. The battery life of this Zune 8 gb is 28 hours ( estimated audio only and no Wi-Fi).
The Zune 8 model generally has a positive feedback. Positive and negative feedbacks mimic those of the Zune 80 and Zune 120 since the Zune 8 are similar in terms of its size with the wi-fi user interface and the excellent sound quality. Some reviews show negative feedback in terms of lack of TV shows in the Zune Marketplace. This has been updated with the ability to purchase certain television shows.
